Second Half Surge
Colorado State found themselves in an early hole after BYU opened the contest up with four unanswered goals. Cullen Gorman (#44) put the Rams on the scoreboard late in the first quarter, but BYU continued taking the lead. Colorado went scoreless in the second, as BYU added six more to take a 10-1 lead at halftime.
Coming out from halftime, the Rams brought energy, outshooting BYU 6-3 in the third, as Brandon Krause (#10) found his first goal, followed by Jimmy Ponicki (#34), Mason Daly (#18) and Jack Rego (#22).
Despite an energy shift, BYU maintained control in the final quarter, leading by a large margin securing a 20-9 victory. Colorado State will not look ahead to next weekend for the Rocky Mountain Showdown against Boulder.
