COLORADO STATE RAMS (7-6 in 2025) @ COLORADO COLLEGE (8-6 in 2025)
1:30 p.m. MT | Washburn Field
The Rams open their 2026 campaign on the road against Colorado College, marking the first of the 17 games this season. Saturday’s matchup will serve as an early measuring tool, as CSU looks to build momentum towards another conference title run.
On the Road
Colorado State will begin its season away from home facing NCAA Division 3 Colorado College for the first time in program history. The Tigers finished last season with an 8-6 record, narrowly beating the Rams 7-6 campaign.
Looking at the previous season through stats, CSU held the edge in scoring last season totaling 308 goals, compared to Colorado Colleges 282. The Tigers, however, showed an aggressive offensive front, averaging 44.8 shots per game, while the Rams averaged 33.7.
Saturday will test CSU’s ability to control the ball, forcing it out of their zone, and in between the pipes of the Tigers goalie. Conversely the Tigers will test the Rams defense with their high shooting rate and offensive pressure.
Throughout this game, faceoffs will be critical in Saturday’s matchup. Winning possession early will allow CSU to slow down the Tigers opportunities to rack up shots on the goal. By the Rams ability to convert faceoff wins to offensive goal plays, it will be a key area for them to attempt to exploit as the season begins.
Players to Watch
CSU Offensive power: Sophomore Attackman Jack Rego will enter this season after recording 50 shots on goal last year and will be a key leader for the team’s ability to get goals this season.
Between the Pipes: Charlie Biabaud will anchor CSU’s defense in goal, where he will be tested early by the Tigers offensive. Bibaud averaged 14 goal saves per game with an average save percentage of 55.8% throughout the season.
CC Offensive Threat: Junior Attackman Matt Hudson was the Tigers leading scorer last season scoring on average three goals a game, accumulating 42 goals through his sophomore season and leading the team with 52 points.
Colorado College on the Field
2025 Record: 8–6
After generating consistent offensive pressure throughout last season, Colorado College proved tough to beat at home, finishing 6–2 in Colorado Springs. That home field success will be a key factor as the Tigers open the season against the Rams.
The Rams Stay Ready
“They’re probably going to overlook us, you know they don’t have talent for all this stuff.” Midfielder sophomore Adyn Cover said. “I think we know what we have in our locker room, and we’re gonna go in with the mindset, we don’t care about what they think about us, and just do our thing.”
