Colorado State Lacrosse Dealt Tough Loss to Cal Poly

Santa Maria, California- A game that started out like it would be another victory for #8 Colorado State Rams turned out to be a tough wake-up call as they were upset by then 19th ranked Cal Poly Mustangs. This was a game in which the ball rolled in favor of Cal Poly.
Colorado State Takes Down UC-Santa Barbara in Season Opener

Santa Maria, CA – In their first MCLA action of 2009, the #7 Colorado State Rams jumped out to an early lead over #9 UC-Santa Barbara and never trailed en route to a convincing 11-6 win in Santa Maria, CA at Righetti High School. The Rams got a huge effort from sophomore attackman Paul Larson (Columbine HS; CO), who scored 5 goals to lead CSU to victory. Sophomore goaltender Alex Jacques (Bainbridge Island HS; WA) was spectacular in the goal as well, recording 18 saves as the Rams reeled off 5 fourth quarter goals to pull away.
CSU Gets Scrimmage Win Over Colorado College 10-9

The Colorado State University Rams men’s lacrosse team kicked off their 2009 season with an exciting 10-9 scrimmage victory over the Division III Colorado College Tigers on Saturday afternoon at CC’s Washburn Field. CSU was paced by sophomore attackman Paul Larson (Columbine HS, CO), who had 3 goals and 1 assist to lead the visiting Rams to victory on an extremely pleasant afternoon in Colorado Springs, CO.
CSU Offense Comes to Life – Rams Beat Hokies 16-7 in MCLA First Round

Farmers Branch, TX – The #7 Colorado State Rams rallied from a 3-0 first quarter deficit and outscored #10 Virginia Tech 16-4 over the final 45 minutes to record an MCLA first-round win in Dallas, TX. The Rams used balanced scoring, including getting multi-point efforts from 6 different players in the 16-7 win as CSU moved to the MCLA Quarterfinals. Sophomore attackman Kevin Wolff (Don Bosco Prep; NJ) led all scorers with 5 points on 2 goals and 3 assists and the Rams scored 6 goals in the fourth quarter to ice the victory over a talented and hard-working Hokie team.

On a day when Mother Nature showed her kindness by blessing Ft. Collins with temperatures in the upper 60s, the #5 Colorado State Rams jumped all over the Colorado School of Mines and won 24-8.

For the first time in almost two years, the Colorado State Rams and the Fort Lewis Skyhawks met on the lacrosse field. For each of the last two seasons, the game had been snowed out in Durango, so this year, FLC came to Fort Collins to take on the #5 Rams.

After two tough victories on consecutive days, the Colorado State Rams were faced with the difficult task of playing the #1 team in the country on Sunday afternoon. CSU was clearly mentally and physically drained after their tough victory against the University of Michigan and let the Sonoma State Cossacks control most of the action before finally coming back and winning 8-6.

Rams Batter Wildcats, Run Away with a 25-7 Victory

Despite the fact that Colorado State and Arizona had never faced each other in the spring since the inception of the USLIA, there was an underlying rivalry beginning to take place between the two teams. CSU had defeated the Wildcats in the fall and Arizona came into Fort Collins on a beautiful day to try and tame the #1 team in the country. Unfortunately for the Cats, fate did not wear red, white, and blue on this day as the Rams proved their worth as #1 and also that the win in Vegas was not a fluke.
