CSU Announces 2010 Award Winners

FORT COLLINS, Colorado— The Colorado State University Men’s Lacrosse team is happy to announce its award winners for the 2010 season. CSU featured ten players on the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference All-Conference team and four on the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association All-America squad. The Rams also swept the individual awards in the RMLC, taking Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Coach of the Year honors.
Second Half Explosion Propels Colorado State to RMLC Championship Over BYU

PROVO, Utah— The #2 Colorado State Rams used a 9-3 second half run and a season-high eight points from RMLC Offensive Player of the Year Cooper Kehoe to capture their sixth RMLC Championship with a 15-10 win over #4 Brigham Young in Provo, UT Saturday afternoon. The win marked CSU’s first conference title since their 8-7 win over Colorado in 2006 and should assure the team of a high seed in the upcoming national tournament to be held at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Denver, CO.
CSU Advances to RMLC Championship with 15-7 Victory Over Utah

PROVO, Utah— The #2 Colorado State Rams opened up RMLC conference tournament play with a workman-like effort against #18 Utah, turning a 5-2 halftime score into a 15-7 victory. The Rams were paced by Cooper Kehoe’s six point effort, but the game was closer than the score may indicate as Utah made CSU work for everything they got during the game.
Rams Cap Hall of Fame Evening with 10-5 Victory Over BYU

FORT COLLINS, Colorado— “The monkeys are off our backs,” head coach Alex Smith said after CSU’s win Saturday night against BYU. The team hadn’t won against BYU since 2006, and beating them 10-5 gave the team something to be proud of.
CSU Hammers Utah State 17-5

LOVELAND, Colorado— The Rams delivered a thrashing to Utah State, defeating them 17-5. With another win under its belt, the Colorado State men’s lacrosse team is preparing to play five of the most intense games this season within the next three weeks.
Brigham Young Hands Colorado State Opening Round RMLC Loss

Boulder, Colorado- Playing as if it could have been their last game of the season, Colorado State left it all on the field in their RMLC opening round loss to conference rival Brigham Young, 7-12. The Rams played with a passion and excitement for the game and an intensity that has not been present in the past few games.
Colorado State Looks to Redeem Themselves in RMLC Playoffs

Boulder, Colorado- This weekend will be an exciting one for the RMLC. With #2 seed Brigham Young playing #3 seed Colorado State at 4 p.m., and #1 seed Colorado hosting #4 seed Utah at 7 p.m. (according to the RMLC website), it should be anybody’s game. Both games will be played on Franklin Field, as well as the championship game the following day at 4 p.m.

Boulder, Colorado – For the first time in quite awhile, the Colorado Buffaloes defeated the Colorado State Rams. It has been 10 years to be exact, with the Rams accumulating 15 wins against the Buffs in that time.
#9 Colorado State Finishes 5-Game Road Trip on High Note against Utah

Sandy, Utah- In the last game of their Spring Break trip to California and Utah, the Colorado State Rams (8-3) were able to finish strong as they defeated the University of Utah Utes (4-3) by a score of 12-6.
#8 Colorado State Suffers Loss to RMLC Rival #4 Brigham Young

Provo, Utah- The Colorado State Rams and Brigham Young Cougars lacrosse rivalry challenges any rivalry in the nation for competitiveness and excitement of the game, and the match-up between the two schools on Friday evening lived up to the hype. Both teams came out fired up and put on an exciting show for the crowd in one of the biggest games of the year for each team, if not the biggest, with Brigham Young coming out the victor, 9-6.
