FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- The Colorado State men's lacrosse team has released its 13-game schedule for the 2023 spring season.
The Rams kick off their season with a border war matchup against Wyoming (MCLA D-II), followed by their annual scrimmage against NCAA Division III opponent Colorado College. This game is played in honor of Flip Naumburg, who coached both teams during his legendary career. Staying in the great state of Colorado, the Rams then defend their turf against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Their schedule ramps up significantly, with a trip to Virginia versus two top-5 teams in Virginia Tech & Liberty. The Rams will then return home to square off against visiting Texas A&M.
Spring break takes the Rams to Florida to play two more strong opponents, the Florida Gators and the Florida State Seminoles. Colorado State will finish Spring break by heading home and playing the University of New Hampshire. CSU will then have a couple of weeks' hiatus before the RMLC Conference matchups kick-off.
Regular season play concludes with the gauntlet that has always been the RMLC D-I. The Texas Longhorns and last year’s MCLA D-II champion, Utah University, will come to Fort Collins at the beginning of April.
Next is the Rocky Mountain Showdown vs. Colorado, hosted in Colorado State’s Canvas Stadium. A trip to Utah to face off against the remainder of the conference, Utah Valley & BYU, will conclude CSU’s regular season before they host the RMLC tournament in Fort Collins, CO.
“This group of young men has many talented leaders,” said coach Ryan MacDonald. “I am excited to see how their hard work and dedication translates to greatness this season.”
