A West Coast Win
Right from the opening faceoff, the Rams established control, maintaining a consistent lead throughout the entire game, while keeping continual defensive pressure on Santa Clara.
On the other side of the field, offensively the Rams excelled, three players recorded hat tricks, Sophomore Attacker Jack Rego (#22), Junior Attacker Lochlan Roger (#7) and Junior Attacker Tanner Marsh (#91) helped advance Colorado State’s gap, finalizing the nine goal lead in the fourth quarter.

Starting off strong Marsh opened up the scoring for the Rams, directly followed by Rego with the second goal of the night.
With 6:56 remaining in the first quarter Santa Clara found the net, but Rego responded quickly again, sinking the ball at 6:16 extending the lead.
Rogers added on another at 2:40 with Marsh finishing off the quarter with his second goal at 1:46.
First Quarter CSU 5 || Santa Clara 1
Junior Midfielder Adyn Cover (#1) led off with the first goal of the second quarter finding the net at 13:06 pushing the Rams ahead of Santa Clara 6-1.
After a Santa Clara timeout at 7:23, the Broncos managed a goal at 5:53, before First-Year Long-Stick-Midfielder (LSM) Danny Schneider (#3) returned, bringing in another Ram goal with just 0:26 remaining in the first half.
Second Quarter CSU 7 || Santa Clara 2
Completing his first hat trick at 9:56 Marsh continued to build a Ram lead. Santa Clara added two goals at 8:53 and 7:17.
For his first goal of the season, Sophomore Midfielder Ryan Menard (#53) sank the ball into the back of the net at 4:53, followed by Rego securing his hat trick at 3:43 creating a six goal gap between the Broncos.
Third Quarter CSU 10 || 4
From there, the Rams pushed the gap farther, Senior Midfielder Mason Daly (#18) secured his goal at 14:20, followed by back-to-back goals from Rogers at 12:19 and 10:18 completing his own hat trick of the night.
Marsh added his fourth goal of the night at 7:25.
With just 2:29 left in the game Santa Clara found their way into the net, but the Rams weren’t done yet, Cover closed out the night with the final goal with six seconds remaining.
