Beaverton, OR – Colorado State University men’s lacrosse is traveling to Oregon the last weekend of February to take part in the inaugural Southridge Lacrosse Classic at Southridge HS in Beaverton, OR. The Rams, ranked #3 in the Inside Lacrosse MCLA Preseason Poll, will face one of their toughest test of the season over the weekend, taking on #18 Simon Fraser on Friday at 4pm local time before facing off against #4 Chapman University on Saturday, also at 4pm.
CSU avenged their heartbreaking 2010 MCLA Quarterfinal loss to SFU with a 13-11 win in Canada last spring. The Rams also defeated Chapman 11-9 a few weeks later en route to an 18-3 record and a berth in the MCLA semifinals.
The trip to Portland is CSU’s second to the Pacific Northwest in the past two seasons. Last year, the Rams tripped to Seattle, WA and Vancouver, BC over Spring Break.
The games against Simon Fraser and Chapman will serve as a fundraiser for Southridge HS lacrosse. After the Rams game against Simon Fraser on Friday night, Chapman takes on #8 Oregon.
